Rank Math vs All in One SEO vs SEOPress (2026): Tested
Rank Math, All in One SEO and SEOPress compared: tested output, weight, features by plan and the cost over three years.
Rank Math, All in One SEO and SEOPress all write your titles and descriptions, add social tags and build sitemaps. Where they differ is what the free version does on its own, which paid plan a feature sits on, what the plan costs after the first year, and how heavy each one is. We installed the free version of each on the same WooCommerce test store on 6 October 2026, measured what it printed and loaded, walked through every screen shown here, and checked each feature against the developer’s own pages and the plugin code.

The short answer
- Rank Math has the fullest free version: redirects, a 404 monitor, schema types per post, a robots.txt editor and local business schema for one location are all free. PRO covers every site you own for one price. The catch: it asks you to connect an account first, and until we pressed Skip Step it printed nothing at all on our post.
- All in One SEO has a step-by-step setup wizard and, in the free version, readability checks and the only headline analyzer of the three. Redirects, the per-post schema generator and local SEO are paid, it was the heaviest of the three in the editor, and every plan renews at double its first-year price.
- SEOPress is the lightest, and the cheapest over time for one site or for client sites: SEOPress does not raise the price at renewal, and $149 a year covers unlimited sites, client sites included. The free version is leaner: the free SEOPress printed no schema on a blog post, and redirects, breadcrumbs and the robots.txt editor are in PRO.
How we tested
Each plugin was installed on a WordPress test store running WooCommerce and the default Twenty Twenty-Five theme. For each one in turn we switched every SEO plugin off, deleted that plugin’s settings, post data and tables so it started from a first install, activated it through the WordPress admin, and read four pages: a blog post, a product, the home page and the shop page. We compared each page with the same page with no SEO plugin active: WordPress on its own printed no meta description, no social tags and no schema on that post. We then opened every screen shown in this article, typed a focus keyword into Rank Math and SEOPress, and saved what each screen said. The versions were Rank Math 1.0.279, All in One SEO 5.0.2.1 and SEOPress 10.3, the current releases on WordPress.org, and we compared each with the WordPress.org release file by file: all three were identical.
We tested the free versions only. Plan placement for paid features comes from each developer’s pricing and feature pages, read on 6 October 2026, and from the plugin code. We also read the code of PureGPL’s own copies of Rank Math PRO 3.0.122, All in One SEO Pro 5.0.2 and SEOPress PRO 10.3 to see what exists; those copies contain added licence lines, so we did not use them for any screen, measurement or plan placement. This is not a ranking test: no plugin can be shown to rank a page higher from a test like this, and we do not claim it.

Prices and renewals
All prices were read from each developer’s pricing page on 6 October 2026. Rank Math’s page showed us prices in euros. Every price on its page that carries both currencies has the same number in each, PRO’s 107.88 included, so we give its prices in dollars. Rank Math bills monthly prices once a year, and it was running a sale: the first-year figures below are sale prices, and its page says each plan renews at the regular monthly price.
| Plan | First year | Renewal | Sites |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rank Math PRO | $95.88 ($7.99 a month, billed yearly) | $107.88 ($8.99 a month) | Unlimited sites you own, no client sites |
| Rank Math Business | $299.88 ($24.99 a month) | $335.88 ($27.99 a month) | 100 client sites |
| Rank Math Agency | $659.88 ($54.99 a month) | $779.88 ($64.99 a month) | 500 client sites |
| All in One SEO Basic | $49.50 | $99 | 1 |
| All in One SEO Plus | $99.50 | $199 | 3 |
| All in One SEO Pro | $199.50 | $399 | 10 |
| All in One SEO Elite | $299.50 | $599 | 100 |
| SEOPress PRO 1 site | $49 | $49 | 1 |
| SEOPress PRO 5 sites | $59 | $59 | 5 |
| SEOPress PRO Unlimited | $149 | $149 | Unlimited |
| SEOPress Insights (rank tracking) | $99 | $99 | 1 per licence |
All in One SEO’s renewals are exactly double its first-year prices; its FAQ says “Basic renews at $99/year versus its $49.50 regular price”. SEOPress’s page says “renew at the same price every year!”, and its FAQ adds an exception for special promotions.
What three years cost
| Your situation (three years) | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 site | $311.64 on PRO ($323.64 without the sale) | $247.50 on Basic | $147 on PRO 1 site |
| 3 sites you own | $311.64 on PRO | $497.50 on Plus ($165.83 a site) | $177 on PRO 5 sites |
| 10 sites you own | $311.64 on PRO ($31.16 a site) | $997.50 on Pro ($99.75 a site) | $447 on PRO Unlimited ($44.70 a site) |
| 100 client sites | $971.64 on Business ($9.72 a site) | $1,497.50 on Elite ($14.98 a site) | $447 on PRO Unlimited |
| 1 site with keyword rank tracking | $311.64 on PRO (500 keywords) | $1,497.50 on Elite | $444 with Insights |
These totals use the list prices above and assume they do not change. Rank Math’s first-year figures are sale prices; at its regular price PRO costs $323.64 over three years.
What each one does to your site
Each plugin started from a first install, with nothing configured except Rank Math’s account step, which we skipped. Rank Math printed nothing on the front end until we pressed Skip Step: its code stops the front end until the site is connected or the step is skipped. The figures below are after that.
| On our test store | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Size on disk | 16.1 MB | 25.1 MB | 13.2 MB |
| Files | 1,337 | 1,286 | 1,361 |
| Database tables created | 2 | 9 | 1 |
| Bytes added to a blog post head | 3,338 | 4,812 | 1,678 |
| Bytes added to a product page head | 2,650 | 3,499 | 837 |
| Bytes added to the home page head | 1,605 | 2,912 | 1,087 |
| Bytes added to the shop page head | 1,422 | 2,016 | 724 |
| Scripts or stylesheets added to the post | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| Open Graph / X tags on the post | 6 / 5 | 6 / 3 | 6 / 5 |
| Schema types on the post | BlogPosting, WebPage, WebSite, Organization, Person, ImageObject | BlogPosting, WebPage, WebSite, Organization, BreadcrumbList | 0 types |
| JavaScript in the post editor | 1,400 KB | 3,995 KB | 89 KB |
| CSS in the post editor | 392 KB | 940 KB | 140 KB |
| Files the plugin loads in the post editor | 24 | 243 | 17 |
None of the three added a script or stylesheet to the public page; what they add is text in the page head. In the post editor the difference is large: All in One SEO loaded 243 files, about ten times as many as Rank Math, and nearly 4 MB of JavaScript. SEOPress printed no schema on our post; on the home page it printed WebSite schema only. The Product and Offer schema on the product page with SEOPress is WooCommerce’s own: the same page with no SEO plugin printed it too. Rank Math and All in One SEO replace or extend it.
The meta descriptions they wrote
Our post had no description typed in, so each plugin wrote one from the content.
| Description written for our post | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Length | 155 characters | 249 characters | 249 characters |
| How it ends | Cut mid-sentence: “…daily cleaning and what to do” | Runs into the next section | Runs into the next section |
| Heading joined to the next sentence | Not in its description | Yes: “rust.SeasoningRub” | Yes: “rust.SeasoningRub” |
All in One SEO and SEOPress took the first 249 characters of the page text and ran the heading “Seasoning” into the sentence before and after it. Rank Math kept to 155 characters but stopped mid-sentence. None of the three is a description you would publish; write your own for pages that matter. SEOPress’s editor marked its own 249-character description in red against a 160-character limit.
Setup and switching
| Setup | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setup wizard | Free (up to 10 steps) | Free (up to 8 steps) | Free (5 stages) |
| Account connection on first run | Asks first, can be skipped | Licence-key step at the end of the wizard, can be skipped | No (wizard can be skipped; optional newsletter email only) |
| Import from other SEO plugins | Free (Yoast SEO and Premium, AIOSEO and Pro, SEOPress, All In One Schema Rich Snippets, WP Schema Pro, Redirection) | Free (Yoast SEO, Rank Math, SEOPress) | Free (12 plugins: Yoast, AIOSEO, Rank Math, The SEO Framework, Slim SEO, SmartCrawl, Squirrly, SEO Ultimate, WP Meta SEO, Premium SEO Pack, SiteSEO, SureRank) |
Rank Math opens on “Connect FREE Account” with a Skip Step button, then a wizard with the steps Getting Started, Import, Your Site, Analytics, Sitemaps, Optimization and Ready. All in One SEO opens its wizard, which says it “takes less than 10 minutes”, and SEOPress’s wizard says it “takes about 3 minutes” and has a Skip for now link.
What they ask differs. Rank Math asks for the site type and logo, offers a Search Console connection, then sitemap post types and tweaks such as nofollow on external links; its Import step only appears when another SEO plugin is installed, and a Custom setup mode that loads a settings file is PRO. All in One SEO walks through the site category and title, organisation or person details, a feature picker, search appearance, smart recommendations, Search Console and a licence key step. SEOPress asks for the site name and type, social profiles, which post types and archives to index, and whether to switch on its metabox and AI assistant. All three can be skipped and finished later.

Moving between them is easy: each imports the other two. Rank Math’s import screen listed Yoast SEO, SEOPress and All In One SEO Pack; All in One SEO listed Rank Math SEO 1.0.279 and SEOPress 10.3 as ready to import; SEOPress offers “Import from Yoast / Rank Math / AIOSEO / SEOFramework”. The sitemap address changes when you switch, so resubmit it in Google Search Console.

Writing and editing
| Writing and editing | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Focus keywords per post (free) | Free (5; more with a code filter) | 1 | Unlimited |
| Focus keywords per post (paid) | PRO and up (vendor says unlimited; code sets 100) | Up to 10 (Basic and up) | Unlimited (same as Free) |
| SEO score or checklist in the editor | Free | Free | Free (checklist) |
| Readability analysis | Free (title and content readability checks) | Free | Free (one check: words per section; no Flesch score) |
| Headline analyzer | No (title checks only) | Free | No |
| Bulk edit titles and descriptions | Free (advanced bulk options in PRO) | Free | Quick Edit, one post at a time (Free); CSV and AI bulk tools PRO |
The free versions differ most in keywords. Rank Math takes 5 focus keywords per post, capped by a code filter, and its PRO plugin raises the cap to a fixed 100 although the pricing cards say unlimited. All in One SEO’s free version takes one focus keyword; its paid cards say up to 10, although the Pro code we read sets no cap by default. SEOPress takes as many comma-separated target keywords as you like in the free version. For readability, All in One SEO’s TruSEO checks are on every plan, Rank Math scores title and content readability (short paragraphs, a table of contents, media, power words) without a Flesch score, and SEOPress has a single check for long sections. All in One SEO is the only one of the three with a headline analyzer that scores titles; Rank Math’s title checks look at the keyword position, sentiment, power words and numbers, and SEOPress checks whether a target keyword appears in the title and whether the title is too long. Rank Math and All in One SEO let you edit titles and descriptions in bulk from the post list for free; SEOPress’s free version adds them to Quick Edit, one post at a time.
Rank Math and All in One SEO put their panel in the block editor sidebar; SEOPress puts a metabox under the post. With our test post open, All in One SEO scored it 54/100 before we added a keyword and listed 5 improvements, such as “Your post has no images or videos.” Rank Math’s sidebar showed the snippet preview, the focus keyword we typed and an upgrade box. SEOPress showed pixel and character counts for the title and description, with the description at 249 of 160 characters in red.

Schema
| Schema | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Schema on by default | Free (Article or BlogPosting, Product, WebSite, WebPage, Organization or Person, ImageObject) | Free (WebSite, Organization or Person, WebPage, Article, BreadcrumbList) | Free (WebSite on the homepage only) |
| Choose schema type per post | Free (18 pre-defined types) | Basic and up (Lite sets a default type per post type) | PRO |
| Custom schema builder or templates | PRO and up | Basic and up | PRO (custom JSON-LD and automatic schemas with conditions) |
| FAQ and How-to blocks | Free (advanced HowTo options in PRO) | Free FAQ block (FAQ schema Basic and up); How-to as a schema type, no block | Free (FAQ block); PRO (How-to block) |
| Video and podcast schema | Video Free; Podcast PRO and up | Basic and up (Video yes; no podcast type) | PRO (video only; no podcast schema) |
| Product or review schema without WooCommerce | Free | Basic and up | PRO (manual Product and Review schemas on any post type) |
On our blog post, Rank Math printed BlogPosting with the author as a Person, and All in One SEO printed BlogPosting with breadcrumbs. Out of the box Rank Math sets posts to BlogPosting, pages to Article and WooCommerce products to Product; breadcrumb schema only appears once you switch its breadcrumbs on. Choosing a schema type per post is free in Rank Math, from 18 pre-defined types, Basic and up in All in One SEO, where the free version only sets a default type for each post type, and PRO in SEOPress. Product and Review schema on a post that is not a WooCommerce product are free in Rank Math, Basic and up in All in One SEO and PRO in SEOPress. For FAQs, Rank Math’s free FAQ and HowTo blocks print their schema, SEOPress’s free FAQ block prints FAQPage schema too, and All in One SEO’s free FAQ block needs a paid plan for its schema. Podcast episode schema exists only in Rank Math PRO.
Social
| Social | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Social preview in the editor | Free | Free | Free (Facebook and X previews) |
| Social profiles and Knowledge Graph | Free | Free | Free |
| Per-post social image and text | Free | Free | Free |
Social basics are free in all three: Facebook and X previews in the editor, a per-post social title, description and image, and site-wide organisation or person details with profile links for Google’s Knowledge Graph. SEOPress’s previews only appear once a post is published. All three printed 6 Open Graph tags on our post; Rank Math and SEOPress added 5 X (Twitter) tags and All in One SEO 3.

Sitemaps
| Sitemaps | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| XML sitemap | Free | Free | Free |
| Image sitemap | Free | Free | Free |
| Video sitemap | PRO and up | Pro and up | PRO |
| News sitemap | PRO and up | Pro and up | PRO |
| HTML sitemap | Free | Free | Free |
XML, image and HTML sitemaps are free in all three; video and news sitemaps are paid in all three. SEOPress PRO’s news sitemap covers the last 2 days and up to 1,000 posts. The address differs, which matters when you switch: Rank Math serves its sitemap at /sitemap_index.xml, All in One SEO at /sitemap.xml and SEOPress at /sitemaps.xml.

Redirects and 404s
| Redirects | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Redirect manager | Free | Pro and up | PRO (Free: per-post 301/302/307 redirect only) |
| 404 monitor | Free (log export in PRO) | Pro and up | PRO |
| Redirect when a slug changes | Free | Pro and up (Basic card also lists it) | PRO (notice with one-click redirect, not automatic) |
| Regex redirects | Free | Pro and up | PRO |
This is the clearest free-version gap. Rank Math’s redirect manager is free once you switch its module on, with Exact, Contains, Starts With, End With and Regex matching. All in One SEO’s free Redirects screen says “Redirects is a PRO Feature” over an Unlock Redirects button. SEOPress has no redirect manager in the free version: its free metabox handles a redirect for one post at a time, with 301, 302 or 307. Rank Math’s free manager also offers 410 and 451, and its 404 monitor is free; CSV import of redirects is in PRO. In All in One SEO the redirect manager and 404 monitor are on Pro and Elite.

Local SEO and WooCommerce
| Local and WooCommerce | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local business schema | Free (one location) | Plus and up | PRO |
| Multiple locations | PRO and up | Plus and up | PRO (one manual Local Business schema per page) |
| WooCommerce product schema enhancements | Free (extra GTIN, MPN and variation fields in PRO) | Basic and up | PRO |
| WooCommerce-specific settings | Free (more in PRO) | Basic and up (Elite for WooCommerce 404 handling) | PRO (Free: /product-category/ removal and primary product category only) |
Rank Math’s free Local SEO module gives one location local business schema with 193 business types; more locations need PRO. All in One SEO’s local SEO is an add-on on Plus and up, and its free Local SEO screen is an upgrade page with an Unlock Local SEO button. SEOPress PRO adds local business schema with opening hours and a Local Business block for one location; for more, you add a Local Business schema to each location page.
For WooCommerce, the free Rank Math replaces WooCommerce’s product schema with its own, which we saw on our product page as ItemPage, Product and Offer, and its free settings can remove the product and category base from URLs. WooCommerce now has its own GTIN field: Rank Math’s free Product schema carries it over, and with SEOPress free WooCommerce’s own schema prints it. The plugins’ extra GTIN, MPN and variation fields are paid in all three. SEOPress’s free version only cleans /product-category/ from URLs and sets a primary category; noindexing the cart, checkout and account pages is in PRO.
AI features
| AI | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI titles and meta descriptions | Separate Rank Math AI plan (Free: 5 uses) | Free with AI credits (100 trial credits on Lite; 10,000 to 200,000 on paid plans) | PRO (own API key, or AI Credits from $19/month) |
| AI content or writing assistant | Separate Rank Math AI plan (Free: 1 use per tool) | Free with AI credits (Writing Assistant needs a paid SEOBoost subscription) | PRO (AI Assistant in the editor sidebar; own key or AI Credits) |
| llms.txt file | Free | Free (llms-full.txt and markdown on paid plans) | PRO |
| MCP or AI agent connection | Free (some tools need PRO or Rank Math AI) | Free (13 abilities in Lite) | Free (built-in MCP server, 14 tools, off by default); PRO adds 13 tools |
The AI features cost extra in different ways. Rank Math’s free plugin gives 5 uses of its title and description tool; after that you need a separate Rank Math AI plan, and buying PRO only adds a 15-day trial. All in One SEO runs on its own AI credits: the free version gets trial credits and each paid plan includes a monthly allowance. SEOPress PRO uses your own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Mistral or DeepSeek key, or a SEOPress AI Credits subscription at $19, $29 or $49 a month.
For AI search, Rank Math’s and All in One SEO’s free versions generate an llms.txt file. SEOPress generates it in PRO; its WordPress.org page lists llms.txt among the free features, but the free plugin’s code has none. All three can connect to AI agents through MCP in the free version: SEOPress 10.3 has a built-in MCP server that is off until you switch it on, and All in One SEO registers 13 abilities.

| Google Search Console data in WordPress | Free (90 days of data; longer on paid plans) | Elite | PRO (Free: verification tag only) |
| Google Analytics in WordPress | PRO and up (Free connects GA and adds the tracking code) | No (hands off to MonsterInsights, a separate plugin) | PRO (Free: tracking code only) |
| Keyword rank tracking | PRO and up (500, 10,000 or 50,000 keywords per account) | Elite (up to 100 keywords, from GSC data) | Paid add-on (SEOPress Insights, $99/year per site, 50 keywords) |
| Broken link checking | PRO and up | Separate plugin (free tier, paid from $4.99 a month) | PRO |
| Content decay or SEO history | PRO and up (top losing posts and keywords) | Plus and up (SEO Revisions); Elite for Content Decay | Partial (PRO: Site Audit scan history, SEO alerts, robots.txt revisions) |
Rank tracking is where the plans differ most: Rank Math PRO tracks 500 keywords across all your sites, Business 10,000 and Agency 50,000; All in One SEO keeps it for Elite, with up to 100 keywords from Search Console; and SEOPress sells it as Insights at $99 a year per site, with up to 50 keywords. Search Console data inside WordPress is free in Rank Math, which keeps 90 days of it, Elite only in All in One SEO and PRO in SEOPress. Internal link suggestions are free in Rank Math, an add-on on Pro and Elite in All in One SEO, and PRO in SEOPress. All in One SEO keeps a history of title, description and schema edits on Plus and up, with 15 saved revisions on Plus and 30 on Pro.
Technical SEO
| Technical | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| robots.txt editor | Free | Free | PRO |
| .htaccess editor | Free | Free | PRO |
| Breadcrumbs | Free (off by default) | Free (custom templates Basic and up) | PRO |
| IndexNow or instant indexing | Free (IndexNow: Bing and Yandex) | Basic and up (separate add-on) | Free (Google Indexing API and IndexNow) |

| Image SEO automation | Free (alt and title; captions and find and replace PRO and up) | Plus and up | Free (auto title, alt, caption, description from filename); AI alt text PRO |
The robots.txt and .htaccess editors are free in Rank Math and All in One SEO and PRO in SEOPress. Breadcrumbs are free in Rank Math (switched off on install) and in All in One SEO, and PRO in SEOPress. For instant indexing, SEOPress’s free version submits URLs to both the Google Indexing API and IndexNow, up to 100 at a time; Rank Math’s free module uses IndexNow, and All in One SEO’s IndexNow add-on needs a paid plan. SEOPress’s free version also strips the generator tag, shortlink, emoji scripts and other clutter from the page head; All in One SEO’s free Crawl Cleanup trims RSS feeds, bots and tracking query arguments instead; Rank Math’s free version strips ?replytocom links and can remove WooCommerce’s generator tag, but not the rest. SEOPress’s free version can also fill in image titles and alt text from the file name on upload.

Audits and author SEO
| Audits and authors | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| SEO audit or site analysis | Free (30+ tests; needs a Rank Math account) | Basic and up (Lite: homepage analysis only, needs an AIOSEO connection) | PRO (13 checks per page) |
| Author SEO or E-E-A-T settings | Free (author schema, no credential fields) | Plus and up | PRO (ProfilePage schema and author profile links; no reviewed-by or credentials) |
Both free audits need an account. All in One SEO’s free version audits the home page only, and on our store it showed “Connect with AIOSEO to see your Site Score” in place of a score; the full Site Audit needs a paid plan. Rank Math’s free SEO Analyzer runs its 30+ tests through rankmath.com, and its screen said “Analyze your site by linking your Rank Math account”. SEOPress’s Site Audit is in PRO and checks 13 issues on every page. For author credibility, All in One SEO’s Author SEO add-on on Plus and up adds author bios, expertise and a Reviewed By field with reviewedBy schema; Rank Math’s free author schema has no credential fields; SEOPress PRO adds ProfilePage schema for author archives.

Agencies and client sites
| Agencies | Rank Math | All in One SEO | SEOPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Licence for client sites | Business and Agency (100 or 500 client sites) | Any plan within its site count (1, 3, 10 or 100 sites) | All PRO plans (1, 5 or unlimited sites) |
| White label | Business and Agency (email reports only) | No | PRO (Free via code hooks only) |
| SEO user roles or access control | Free | Basic and up | Free |
| Multisite network support | Free | Elite | Free |
Rank Math PRO excludes client sites, so agencies need Business (100 client sites) or Agency (500). All in One SEO allows client sites within each plan’s site count. Every SEOPress PRO licence may be used on client sites, and SEOPress is the only one of the three with a white label screen, in PRO; Rank Math says it does not offer white label, apart from its email reports on Business and Agency, and All in One SEO has no white label option. Multisite networks are supported in the free Rank Math and SEOPress, and need Elite in All in One SEO.

- Pro: the lightest of the three and the same price at renewal; $149 a year covers unlimited sites, client sites included, with white label.
- Pro: unlimited keywords, Google Indexing API submission and head clean-up in the free version.
- Con: the free version printed no schema on a blog post, and redirects, breadcrumbs and the robots.txt editor are in PRO.
- Con: rank tracking is a separate Insights licence for each site.
Which should you pick
| Your situation | Our pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One site, free version only | Rank Math | Redirects, a 404 monitor, schema per post and local schema are free |
| One site, paying, lowest cost over three years | SEOPress | $147 over three years, and the price does not rise at renewal |
| 6 or more sites you own | Rank Math PRO | One price covers every site you own: $311.64 over three years against $447 for SEOPress PRO Unlimited |
| Client sites | SEOPress PRO Unlimited | $149 a year for unlimited sites, client sites allowed, with white label |
| Beginner who wants help writing titles | All in One SEO | Guided wizard, headline analyzer and TruSEO checks in the free version |
| Lightest admin and front end | SEOPress | 13.2 MB, 1 table and 17 files in the editor on our store |
Our verdict
If you want one plugin and will not pay, install Rank Math: on our store its free version did the most, as long as you skip or complete its account step and switch on the modules you need, such as redirections. If you will pay and care about cost over several years, SEOPress is the clear choice for one site without rank tracking, for a few sites, or for client work: $147 over three years for one site and $447 for unlimited sites, at the same price every year. All in One SEO is the friendliest for a beginner on one site, but check the renewal before you buy, because its plans renew at double the first-year price, and expect the heaviest editor of the three. Whichever you choose, write your own meta descriptions for the pages that matter: none of the three wrote one we would publish.
What other comparisons get wrong
- Rank Math’s own pricing page lists SEOPress at 148 for 1 site, 356 for 3, 1,139 for 10 and 10,049 for 100 sites, in a table last updated on 3 June 2026. Those figures equal SEOPress PRO plus its $99-a-year Insights add-on for every site; SEOPress PRO alone is $49, $59 or $149. The same table sets Rank Math PRO against 100 sites, but PRO excludes client sites.
- Rank Math’s price. blogvault.net says Rank Math’s “Pro plan runs $84/year”; aioseo.com says it “starts at $69 per year”; searchatlas.com gives “$6.99/month”; linkwhisper.com and growthmarketingpro.com give $59 a year. Rank Math’s page showed $95.88 for the first year on sale and $107.88 after.
- A free version that does exist. growthmarketingpro.com says All in One SEO “is the only option on this list that doesn’t have a free version”. It has one on WordPress.org, with 2 million+ active installations.
- SEOPress for 5 sites. searchatlas.com says “SEOPress Pro costs $49/year for 5 sites”; $49 is the 1-site plan and 5 sites cost $59.
- All in One SEO’s plans. linkwhisper.com lists “Business (up to 10 sites): $99.50/year”; the $99.50 plan is Plus, for 3 sites. aioseo.com’s own comparison still quotes Basic at $49.60.
- Rank Math’s client plans. quickcreator.io says Business “supports 200 client websites”; Rank Math’s page says 100.
- Sitemap pings. blogvault.net says Rank Math creates sitemaps “with daily search engine pings”. Rank Math’s code on our store has no sitemap ping.
- Old prices. growthmarketingpro.com, first published in 2023, gives SEOPress PRO as $39 a year; it is $49.

What a GPL copy does and does not include
These plugins are licensed under the GPL, which is why they can be redistributed. A GPL copy is not a licence with the developer: it comes without their support, and anything that runs through the developer’s own account or servers is not part of it. For SEO plugins that matters more than usual, because keyword rank tracking, AI credits and connected analytics are services the developer hosts. Our copies of Rank Math PRO, All in One SEO Pro and SEOPress PRO contain added licence lines, so they are not the developer’s unmodified files. If you need the hosted services or the developer’s support, buy from the developer.

Is Rank Math better than All in One SEO?
For free features, yes: redirects, a 404 monitor and schema per post are free in Rank Math and paid in All in One SEO. All in One SEO has a headline analyzer and readability checks in its free version.
Is SEOPress better than Rank Math?
SEOPress is lighter and its paid plan costs less over three years for one site or for client sites. Rank Math’s free version does more.

SEOPress on our store: 13.2 MB, 1 database table, 1,678 bytes added to a post and 17 files loaded in the editor.
Do they slow down the front end?
None of the three added a script or stylesheet to our public pages; each added between 724 and 4,812 bytes of text to the page head.
Can I switch from one to another?

Does All in One SEO have a free version?

Is Rank Math free?
Yes, the core plugin is free on WordPress.org with 4 million+ active installations. PRO costs $107.88 a year at its regular price.
