Rank Math vs All in One SEO vs SEOPress: Which to Choose in 2026

If you have ruled out Yoast, three plugins are left on most shortlists: Rank Math, All in One SEO and SEOPress. All three generate descriptions, social tags and sitemaps. They part ways on price structure, weight and how much the free version includes.

We tested the free versions side by side and read each developer’s pricing page on 2 October 2026.

Rank Math, All in One SEO and SEOPress compared on price, renewal, sites, size, database tables and output
The three plugins at a glance.

The short answer

  • Rank Math: the most features for the least money across your own sites.
  • All in One SEO: the most guided setup, and store features in the lowest plan, at the highest renewal price.
  • SEOPress: the simplest pricing, the lightest of the three, and the best fit for client work.

What each did on our test site

How we tested. On 2 October 2026 we installed the free version of each plugin, one at a time, on a clean WordPress site with WooCommerce and the default theme. We left every setting at its default, published one ordinary blog post, and looked at what each plugin put into the page. The figures are for that one site and that one post. They show how the plugins behave out of the box. They are not a ranking test: no plugin can be shown to rank a page higher than another from a test like this, and we do not claim it.

Free version, defaults, one blog post Rank Math 1.0.279 All in One SEO 5.0.2.1 SEOPress 10.3
Meta description Yes Yes Yes
Open Graph / Twitter tags 6 / 5 6 / 3 6 / 5
Schema 5 types 5 types, with breadcrumbs None in the free version
Added to the page head 3.3 KB 4.8 KB 1.7 KB
Size on disk 16.1 MB 25.1 MB 13.2 MB
Database tables 2 9 1
Sitemap address /sitemap_index.xml /sitemap.xml /sitemaps.xml
First screen after activation “Connect FREE Account” (can be skipped) Setup wizard Setup wizard

SEOPress was the lightest and All in One SEO the heaviest. None of the three added a script or stylesheet to the public page.

The sitemap addresses differ, which matters if you switch: the address you gave Google Search Console will stop working, so submit the new one.

Rank Math

The free version is the fullest: redirects, several focus keywords, schema, and modules you can switch off. PRO adds a schema generator, a rank tracker, WooCommerce SEO PRO and multi-location local SEO for $107.88 a year across all your own sites.

Weak point: it wants an account connection on first run, and client sites need the dearer Business plan.

All in One SEO

AIOSEO’s Basic plan already includes schema, WooCommerce SEO, redirects, breadcrumbs and user access control. Its setup wizard asks plain questions and configures the rest.

Weak point: price over time. Every plan renews at about double its first-year price, and it was the heaviest install in our test.

👉 All in One SEO Pro on PureGPL, $4.99. Our review.

SEOPress

SEOPress PRO has one feature set at three sizes: $49 for one site, $59 for five, $149 for unlimited, each renewing at the same price. It includes AI integration with several providers, site audit, local and WooCommerce SEO, schema, redirects with 404 monitoring, and white label.

Weak point: the free version prints no schema, and the community is smaller.

Three-year cost

Rank Math PRO All in One SEO SEOPress PRO
1 site, 3 years $323.64 $247.50 (Basic) $147
10 own sites, 3 years $323.64 $997.50 (Pro) $447 (unlimited)

Calculated from list prices, assuming they do not change. All in One SEO’s first year is at its introductory price.

What a GPL copy does and does not include

The Pro plugins named here are licensed under the GPL, which is why we can distribute them. A copy from PureGPL is the developer’s original file. It is not a licence with the developer, so you do not get their support, and anything that runs through the developer’s own account or servers is not part of it. In SEO plugins that matters more than usual: keyword rank tracking, AI writing credits and connected analytics are services the developer hosts, and they need the developer’s account. The on-site features (schema, redirects, sitemaps, WooCommerce and local SEO settings) are in the file. Updates come from us. If you need the hosted services or the developer’s support, buy from the developer.
