Best SEO Plugin for WooCommerce in 2026: 5 Tested on a Store
What WooCommerce does for SEO by itself, and what five SEO plugins add to a product page. Tested on a store, with real prices.
A WooCommerce store has SEO needs a blog does not. Product pages need product schema with a price and stock status. Category and filter pages multiply quickly and can flood a sitemap. Social shares should show a product, not an article.
WooCommerce already does part of this by itself, which most guides never mention. We tested what it does alone, then what each SEO plugin adds on top.

The short answer
- Best free choice for a store: Rank Math. In our test it was the only one of the big three whose free version marked a product page as a product and added price tags for social sharing.
- Best paid choice on one store: All in One SEO. WooCommerce SEO is included in its lowest plan.
- Best if you already run Yoast: Yoast WooCommerce SEO, which adds the product features Yoast’s free version lacks.
- Best for agencies with many stores: SEOPress PRO, which includes WooCommerce SEO and has an unlimited-sites plan.
What WooCommerce does by itself
On our test store, with no SEO plugin active, a product page already carried Product schema with the name, description, SKU and an offer with the price, plus breadcrumb schema. WordPress’s built-in sitemap already listed products.
What was missing: a meta description, and every social sharing tag. Shared on Facebook or WhatsApp, the product would appear with no chosen image, title or price.
So an SEO plugin is not what gives a store product schema. It is what gives it descriptions, social tags and control.
What each free plugin added to a product page
How we tested. On 2 October 2026 we installed the free version of each plugin, one at a time, on a clean WordPress site with WooCommerce and the default theme. We left every setting at its default, published one simple product, and looked at what each plugin put into the page. The figures are for that one site and that one post. They show how the plugins behave out of the box. They are not a ranking test: no plugin can be shown to rank a page higher than another from a test like this, and we do not claim it.
| Free version | Meta description | Shared as | Price tags for social | Product schema |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WooCommerce alone | No | No tags | No | WooCommerce’s own |
| Rank Math | Yes | Product | Yes | Its own, with category added |
| Slim SEO | Yes | Product | Yes | WooCommerce’s own |
| SEOPress | Yes | Product | No | WooCommerce’s own |
| All in One SEO | Yes | Article | No | WooCommerce’s own |
| Yoast SEO | No | Article | No | WooCommerce’s own |
“Shared as” is the Open Graph type each plugin printed. The free versions of Yoast and All in One SEO labelled the product page as an article. Both sell the product-specific handling in their paid versions.
Only Rank Math replaced WooCommerce’s product schema with its own. The others left WooCommerce’s in place and added their site-level schema beside it. Yoast, All in One SEO and Slim SEO each printed a second breadcrumb list next to WooCommerce’s.
1. Rank Math
Rank Math has a WooCommerce module in its free version, and it showed in the test. The paid version’s feature list names “WooCommerce SEO PRO” along with the schema generator and Google News and Video sitemaps.

👉 Rank Math Pro on PureGPL, $4.99
2. All in One SEO
AIOSEO lists “WooCommerce SEO” in its Basic plan: optimising product pages, categories and tags. Redirects, schema and breadcrumbs are in the same plan, and the Pro plan adds advanced 404 management for WooCommerce products and categories.

👉 All in One SEO Pro on PureGPL, $4.99
3. Yoast WooCommerce SEO
Yoast sells store features as a separate plan that contains everything in Yoast SEO Premium. Its page lists optimised product sitemaps that skip cart, checkout and filter pages, better breadcrumbs, tools to fill in missing product details such as brand, colour and material, and AI-written product titles and descriptions.

Price from the developer: $178.80 a year for one store, before VAT.
👉 Yoast WooCommerce SEO on PureGPL, $4.99, and our Yoast WooCommerce SEO review.

What to set up, whichever you choose
- Write a meta description for your top products. Generated ones are a fallback.
- Keep filter and cart pages out of the index. Check your sitemap for addresses with filter parameters.
- Fill in brand and identifiers (GTIN or MPN) where you have them. Google uses them to match products.
- Redirect removed products to the nearest category instead of leaving a 404.
- Test one product in Google’s Rich Results Test after setup.
What a GPL copy does and does not include
The Pro plugins named here are licensed under the GPL, which is why we can distribute them. A copy from PureGPL is the developer’s original file. It is not a licence with the developer, so you do not get their support, and anything that runs through the developer’s own account or servers is not part of it. In SEO plugins that matters more than usual: keyword rank tracking, AI writing credits and connected analytics are services the developer hosts, and they need the developer’s account. The on-site features (schema, redirects, sitemaps, WooCommerce and local SEO settings) are in the file. Updates come from us. If you need the hosted services or the developer’s support, buy from the developer.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best SEO plugin for WooCommerce?
Rank Math if you want the most from a free plugin. All in One SEO or SEOPress PRO if you are paying and want store features in the lowest plan.
Does WooCommerce have built-in SEO?
Partly. In our test it printed product and breadcrumb schema and listed products in the WordPress sitemap. It printed no meta description and no social tags.
Is Yoast enough for WooCommerce?
The free version treated our product page as an article and wrote no description. The store features are in Yoast WooCommerce SEO, a paid plan.
Do I need a separate schema plugin?
Usually not for products, since WooCommerce prints product schema itself. For reviews, FAQs or other types, your SEO plugin’s paid version or Schema Pro covers them.
