Elementor Pro

Elementor Pro is the premium add-on for the Elementor page builder, and it is the reason most WordPress agencies use Elementor at all. It adds the Theme Builder, WooCommerce Builder, Form Builder, Popup Builder and Loop Builder to the free plugin, turning a page builder into a full site builder.

Elementor Pro will not run on its own. It is an extension of the free Elementor plugin, which you can install from the WordPress plugin directory at no cost. Install the free plugin first, then this.

What Elementor Pro adds to the free plugin

Theme Builder. Design every part of your theme visually instead of editing PHP templates. Headers, footers, single post layouts, archive pages, 404 pages and search results all become editable canvases, with display conditions controlling exactly where each one applies. For agencies this removes the child-theme step from most projects and makes handover to a non-technical client realistic.

WooCommerce Builder. Rebuild the product page, cart, checkout and account screens without touching a WooCommerce template file. Galleries, add-to-cart behaviour, upsells, cross-sells and related products all become drag-and-drop elements. This is the difference between a store that looks like WooCommerce and a store that looks like the brand it belongs to.

Form Builder. Multi-step forms with conditional logic, file uploads, and native integrations for Mailchimp, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Slack and generic webhooks. Submissions are stored in your own WordPress database, so lead data stays with you rather than living inside a third-party form service.

Popup Builder. A full popup designer with triggers based on scroll depth, exit intent, time on page and click, plus display conditions by page, post type, device or user state. It covers most of what a dedicated popup plugin does, which is one fewer plugin to maintain and update.

Loop Builder and dynamic content. Design a single item template, then render any query as a grid or carousel — custom post types, taxonomies, ACF fields, user data. This is what makes directory sites, property listings and portfolios practical in Elementor without adding a separate query plugin.

Role Manager and custom code. Control which user roles can edit which parts of a design, and inject custom CSS or tracking code per page. Useful when a client will be editing content but should not be able to move the header.

Elementor’s cloud template library

Every Pro feature above works without a licence key, and your visitors see no difference at all — a page built with Pro widgets renders identically either way. There is one exception worth naming.

Importing from Elementor’s cloud template library needs an active licence. The template browser inside the editor connects to Elementor’s own servers, so that connection is theirs to allow. Templates you design yourself, save as your own, or import from a downloaded kit all work normally — it is only their hosted collection that stays closed.

If browsing that library is part of how you work, buy the licence from Elementor. That is the honest recommendation, and it costs us a sale to make it.

It is less suited to anyone building a single simple blog, where the free Elementor plugin is genuinely enough, or to developers who prefer writing templates by hand.

Either way you get the same file: the original .zip as the developer published it, with nothing removed and nothing added. Every upload is virus-scanned before it reaches your account, and earlier builds stay available if you ever need to match an existing site.

Everything. The GPL licence is already active in the code you receive, so every feature is present and working the moment you activate the plugin — nothing is stripped out, nothing is disabled, and your visitors see no difference from a site running the developer’s own copy.

The one thing a developer’s key normally carries is automatic updates from their servers. Yes. This plugin is licensed under the GNU General Public Licence — the same licence WordPress itself uses. The GPL expressly permits redistribution of the code, including redistribution for a fee, and the Free Software Foundation states plainly that the licence sets no limit on what may be charged.

What we distribute is the original file, unmodified. The developer’s licence verification code is left exactly where they put it; we simply do not supply a key, because a key is not ours to give.

What is not legal, and what we do not do, is distributing nulled software — files with the licence check stripped out. That is modification of the code, and modified code is how WordPress sites get backdoored. We explain both at length: is GPL legal? and GPL versus nulled.

Download the .zip, then in WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the file and click Install Now, then Activate. If the download contains extras such as documentation, unzip it first and install only the plugin file.
